What, and Who, is Sligo Music?
Sligo Music is an initiative of musicians, venues and music organisations in Sligo, working with the support of Sligo County & Sligo Borough Council Arts Service and Creative Sligo. It provides training and networking opportunities for those working with music, and has recently launched this new event listings website to bring better visibility to the myriad of great music festivals, events, venues and organisations happening in the county all year round.
 
How do I find out what’s on in Sligo?
Just click on the “What’s On” link above and you can easily filter the listings by venue, date or genre of music.  We can only post the events we are given but we do aim to provide as comprehensive a listing as possible.
 
I’m running an event - how do I add a listing?
Easy. Click here or on the “List your Event” words in the header and follow the instructions on screen. If it’s your first time using the service you’ll be asked to create a user account, and for every subsequent visit you can use that login to upload your event. Once you are logged in you will be taken through a very simple form to guide you in adding your event to the listings.
 
What should I have before submitting a listing?
Adding the listing is an automated form, so it’s important that you have all the relevant information to hand when you first upload it Event title, date, time, price, Please note that you cannot make any automatic changes once the event is live, you will have to email the admin and there may be a short delay on response so it is much better to have all of the information to hand when creating the event.
 
Is there are a charge to submit a listing?
No, sligomusic.ie listings are free to submit.
 
Do I need an account to list an event?

Yes. When uploading your first event you’ll be taken through the steps, and once you have a user name and password you can use that to upload subsequent events.
 
Can I add an image to my listing?
Yes, an image is the best way for event to get noticed and a good image is the best way to get listed on the home page. Your image must be landscape in orientation, and should to be no smaller than 70kb in size, and no bigger than 500kb (i.e. no larger than half an MB) Images larger or smaller will not be accepted. By uploading an image you are confirming that you have copyright/permission for use.  If you don’t add an image a generic sligomusic image will be created.
 
I’m playing in an event and I don’t see it listed- how can I add it?
Ideally the listings should be added by a venue or a promoter as that will allow all of their events to be found together when people search by venue.  To avoid duplicated events you should first check with the venue/promoter to check whether they have submitted an event as it may be pending admin approval. If they are unable to add their own listing please feel free to add the event yourself by following the steps on “List your Event” above.

Help – my event has been cancelled/important information about my event has changed, how do I amend my listing?
You can email listings@sligomusic.ie with the word CHANGE in the subject line, followed by the name and date of your event. Please note that sligomusic.ie is a voluntary service and although checked regularly there may be a 24hour delay in viewing your email so it is best to wait until all of the event information is correct/confirmed before posting it.
